Organizational Chart
We rank among the larger ones of the 16 departments at ETH Zurich and count about 780 Bachelor and Master students, 250 PhD students, 150 postdocs, about 50 apprentices, 150 admin./techn./IT employees, 24 Senior Scientists, and 46 professors, including 4 non-tenuretrack assistant professors (+2 part-timemembers at Texas A&M and Princeton) and 9 titular professors. We host five Institutes, ASTRO (Astrophysics), LFKP (Laboratory for Solid State Physics), IPP (Particle Physics), IQE (Quantum Optics and Electronics), and ITP (Theoretical Physics). Teaching and research are supported by an infrastructure department (Services) including a mechanical workshop with technical engineering and a well assorted stock-room, an IT support group, a graphics and communication group, and technical support in physics teaching; furthermore, we are responsible for providing cooling liquids (helium, nitrogen) to the entire ETH and to the University of Zurich.
