Mechanical Training Workshop

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, operations are reduced.

Information on how ETH returns to new normal operations

In the mechanical training workshop apprentices are taught the basic techniques of material processing.

Each year, 12 to 15 apprentices complete the basic mechanical training. At ten working stations, polymechanics EFZ, physics laboratory assistants, electronics technicians EFZ and designers EFZ at trained. In addition, workshop courses for physics students are offered. Moreover, orders such as smaller-scale projects, repairs and reworks for individual institutes and services are carried out. The training workshop offers courses in pneumatics, connection technology, assembly technology, roller-bearing assembly and CNC technology. For apprentices, midterm exams and preparation for the qualification process are offered.
