Mechanical Workshop
We provide services for the Department of Physics and all other departments at ETH Zurich. With our state-of-the-art machines and broad expertise, we can manufacture a wide spectrum of mechanical parts.
In collaboration with the departmental Engineering Office, we carry out complex and large-scale projects. Our machines and our expertise enable us to fulfil most of our customers' requirements by offering a broad range of services; the only exceptions are surface treatments and part sizes that exceed the input-size capacity of our machines. The Mechanical Workshop also serves as a training and teaching facility. Our staff currently mentor nine apprentices on the path to become polymechanics. The ability to provide our apprentices and students with a sound basic knowledge and insight into advanced processing techniques is of great importance to us.
