Laboratory courses
The P1 to P4 laboratory courses build on one another and progressively develop students' experimental, methodological and scientific skills. In P1 and P2, students work in pairs to complete predefined experiments and prepare scientific reports. P2 introduces more advanced experiments and reporting requirements: it's also necessary to have successfully completed P1. P3 and P4 place greater emphasis on independent work: in P3 students choose their own experiments from a broad selection, and P4 further extends this format. The project-oriented P+ course allows motivated students to design and carry out their own experiments, fostering additional skills in project management, teamwork and interdisciplinary thinking.
Please note that the project-oriented P+ course can be credited towards both the “Lab courses” category and the “Proseminars and semester projects” category.
