Prospective Students
The Department of Physics at ETH Zurich offers structured study curricula, a unique breadth of research topics, access to large-scale research facilities, excellent international research networks and a high reputation in and beyond Switzerland.
Every year, the Department of Physics welcomes prospective students on the occasion of the Information Days at ETH Zurich. High-school students are given an overview of the entire range of degree programmes on offer.
Thanks to the exhibition, presentations and demonstration lectures, you get a chance to talk to students, lecturers and graduates of the department, ask questions and get helpful information about the physics degree and career prospects.
The Bachelor's degree programme at the Department of Physics is taught in German, and a language certificate is required for admission. A good knowledge of English becomes increasingly relevant as students progress in their studies. Depending on the chosen curriculum, lectures in English may start from the second or third year of study. The Master's degree programme offered by the department is mainly taught in English.
