Pólya Prize

The Pólya Prize was established in 1977 thanks to a donation by Stella and George Pólya. It is awarded annually and honours outstanding graduates in mathematics and physics.  

George Pólya (1887–1985) was a Hungarian mathematician and professor of mathematics at ETH Zurich from 1914 to 1940. Prizewinners receive a copy of George Pólya's book Mathematics and plausible reasoning signed by the Chair of the Department.
