Swiss Young Physicists' Tournament at ETH Zurich

43 high-school students were competing on April 1 and 2 at ETH Zurich to become Swiss 'physics champion'.

In her opening speech, ETH Rector Sarah Springman said that she hopes that the students will retain their fascination for physics. The winner team was "404 - name not found" of Marc Bitterli and Kathrin Laxhuber. Remarkably, among the top eight were no less than five women.

The nine first-ranked students will now compete in a next round, to determine the five Swiss participants in the International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT) in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
