Public Talk by Sandra Faber

The known astrophysicist Sandra Faber of the University of California at Santa Cruz gave a public lecture on "Cosmic Knowledge and the Long-term Strategy of the Human Race" on the Hönggerberg campus.

Sandra Faber is an observational astronomer with research interests in cosmology and galaxy formation. She was one of three astronomers who diagnosed the optical defect in the Hubble Space Telescope, and she played a major role in its repair.

Among numerous other awards, Faber received the National Medal of Science from President Obama in February 2013.
