Mildred Dresselhaus †
The Department of Physics has been saddened to hear of the passing away of Professor Millie Dresselhaus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on 20 February 2017.
Millie was a frequent visitor to the Department of Physics. On the Department's application, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by ETH in 2015, in recognition both of her outstanding contributions to science and of the mentoring of generations of young scientists. She was a role-model for many, and will be greatly missed.
